We are glad to announce that the first official PS3Blog.net Red Dead Redemption game night is tonight.

On Saturday June 26th from 8:30PM EST -11:00PM EST or later, Sinlock and Demerson will be co-hosting and evening of dust-up gunfighting.

At 8:30 Sinlock will host a Pre-game in Public Free Roam to help others earn the “Have Gun Will Travel’ and “Hit the Trail” Trophies.

At 9:00PM the Official game will begin, We will move to a Private Free Roam game that will be invite only*.

At 10:00PM Things get personal with Gang match ups, Free for all, Gold rush, Grab the bag, and other ways of murder.

Here are some details.

Due to the way in how RDR handles parties, only people on a players Friends list can be invited into a Private Match. To get around this limitation people wishing to join us for Game Night should send an PSN friend request to one of the two Co-hosts. Please mention PS3Blog.net Game Night in the topic and your user name on the Blog so we know who you are. Lots of people use a different name on PSN than on the Blog.

Sinlock’s PSN = Sinlock and Demerson’s PSN = DZounar

Mic/Headsets are not required but will help make it more enjoyable for everyone. Almost any Bluetooth headset can be used with the PS3.

Depending on the response received during the rest of the week in the comments section, We may or may not add the new RDR co-op download content to the game plan. This content is free and only takes about 15 minutes to download and get installed.

** PS3Blog.net is a family friendly community although we are killing each other, we will be gentlemen about it. That way the hosts do not have to make use of the boot feature**

WRC: FIA World Rally Championship

Dall'italianissima Mileston è il arrivo il gioco ufficiale del campionato del mondo di rally. La data di uscita di questo gioco di corse per Xbox 360 è prevista per questo autunno.

La Milestone è molto conosciuta grazie ai giochi di corse che ha realizzato e che hanno riscosso un buon successo in tutto il mondo, in particolare la serie SBK e c'è da scommettere che il suo WRC: FIA World Rally Championship, su cui sta lavorando, non deluderà le aspettative.

WRC: FIA World Rally Championship non sarà un gioco dalla massima simulazione possibile, ma vuole essere molto accessibile e fare in modo che chiunque possa divertirsi e provare le emozioni di questo sport così particolare.

So Jimmy Fallon continued his Video Game Week with a visit from Herman Hult, the PS3, and Killzone 3. There wasn’t a lot of footage shown, at least not anymore than we have seen already but it’s nice to see the PS3 getting some love.

Earlier in the week on the Engadget show Jimmy said that he wasn’t into 3D at all, but after seeing his reactions in this video it seems like he might have changed his tune.

Brutte notizie per tutti i fan di Jade e Pey’j che non vedrebbero l’ora di mettere le mani su Beyond Good & Evil 2:
Michel Ancel, lead designer del gioco nonchè papà dell’immortale personaggio videoludico Rayman, ha recentemente parlato del gioco ad una conferenza, chiarendo sin da subito che per Beyond Good & Evil 2 bisognerà aspettare parecchio poichè il team che sta lavorando sul progetto è composto da pochi membri, e per consegnare un ottimo prodotto servirà tanto tempo e tante risorse.
Il sequel in questione è comunque attualmente in sviluppo e dovrebbe arrivare prima della chiusura del ciclo vitale delle console next-gen.

Hulu May Be Coming to PS3

According to Bloomberg, Sony and Hulu are in the final stages of signing a deal that will allow for the Hulu service to become available on the PS3. If this is true, the deal could become officially announced next week. Unfortunately, it will be subscription based, and reportedly around $10 a month.

It used to be free some time back, but after people were streaming the service to the PS3 through the browser (or was it through the sharing?), Hulu blocked that access. Now, it appears the two are going to strike a deal. Word is also circulating that the XBox 360 is getting Hulu service as well, presumably for the same subscription price and the need to be a Gold subscriber.

One thing that comes to mind, though, is can this service be free with the PlayStation Plus? It could be, but the difference is, PS+ goes to Sony and the Hulu subscription would go to Hulu, but it’s a possibility nonetheless, maybe a cheaper subscription to Hulu at least? In any case, I probably won’t be getting the service personally. Not much of a TV guy, modern shows are crap (save for shows on the Discovery channels), and I only watch TV before bed .

Sony Already Falling Behind Microsoft When it Comes to Marketing Move

Since Sony and Microsoft both showed off their motion control tech at this years E3, we’ve seen little public demonstrations of Move. On the other hand Microsoft ’s Kinect has been on the move with it’s first public appearance to a live audience on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Even with the noticeable response delay with the demo of Kinect, it seemed like a lot of fun was had.

Kinect wasn’t the only motion control game featured on the show. This week kicks off Fallon’s first ever “Video Game Week”. Kinect was showed off on Monday followed by a Tiger Woods demo for the Wii on Tuesday. Tonight the only PS3 exclusive game that’s going to be in the spotlight on the show is Killzone 3.

I’m no fan of all this motion tech nonsense but if Sony plans on getting the word out about Move, besides at scheduled events, then they need to step up their game..literally.

Get Move on Oprah or CNN, Sony!

To be fair,Move has had a public showing in Sony’s home country of Japan after E3 2010 unfortunatly Japan makes up 1/3 of the world gaming market. Quite frankly I don’t think that’s enough. Japan is already considered Sony and Nintendo country when it comes to gaming.

Of course noone can be certain if/when Sony plans to push Move advertising into full throttle. Perhaps as the release gets closer? If that’s the case then by that time, the only people who are interested, outside of those who already own a PS3 for gaming, will know more about Kinect than Move.

nel solo primo giorno dell’apertura della stanza E3 2010 del servizio PlayStation Home, si sono connessi circa 65.000 utenti. La vera fiera losangeliana ha invece totalizzato circa 46.500 visitatori nell’intera settimana dedicata all’evento: un risultato piuttosto soddisfacente per il servizio PlayStation Home che, mese dopo mese, si fa sempre più ricco di contenuti!

Over at the Official Blog, Susan Panico, Sr. Director of the PlayStation Network has gone into a little more detail as to what the features for PS+ are. To begin, most of us are already away that a 3 month subscription is $18 and a 1 year subscription is $50. For a limited time, you get 3 free months with the 1 year subscription as well (15 months in other words). You can pay for the service the same way you pay for anything in the store, through PSN cards and credit/debit cards.

During a given month, you can download free Minis, PSOne and PSN games. The titles available will change each month and replace the previous month’s. Once you download a PSN title, it’s yours as long as you are a subscriber. If your subscription lapses, you won’t be able to access them again, but you can get a new subscription and the titles you had previously will become playable again. If you delete the title, you can also re-download it, too (as long as you downloaded it before, and the title doesn’t show in the PS+ part of the store because it’s a new month, you can find it in the regular store and still get it for free).

Dynamic themes, avatars, premium game elements (that’s new), etc. will be able to be kept forever, even after your subscription. Some of these items will only be available to PS+ members. You also get steeper discounts than regular sales, and these discounts range from 20%-50% off. Discounted purchases are yours to keep.

Check after the bump for a few more details on the full game trials and automatic updates (as well as a few other bits of information)

Full game trials are only for select titles (the first month will be InFAMOUS). These trials will usually last an hour (it says “unless otherwise stated” so some could, theoretically, last longer). If you decide to purchase the game, you won’t need to re-download it. Just purchase the key, and continue where you left off (and trophies and the like will be unlocked as well, even ones you may have unlocked during the trial period).

As for Automatic Updates, while your PS3 is in stand-by mode, it will automatically patch the games you have played, it will download demos and betas, and download firmware updates, day or night and whenever they become available (automatic downloads will not go into effect while you are playing, though). As far as firmware updates go, you will still need to install them yourself.

As far as other stuff?

They’re still looking at Cross Game Chat (I still don’t know why you’d want to talk to people who are playing a different game than you), but not necessarily as a PS+ feature
The master account is the only account that can purchase PS+, but all games and features will be available to the sub accounts as well
The free minis and PSOne games will be playable on the PSP still
Sony plans on expanding PS+ during its lifetime, adding new services and features as time goes by
Qore is also free to PS+ subscribers

Given the more in-depth understanding and explanation of the service, who is going to hop on board and subscribe to PS+? Personally, it really seems to pay for itself multiple times over in a year. Yeah, you won’t be able to continue playing PSN titles you got for free, but that’s a part of the service; a service that made them available to you in the first place. If they allowed you to keep those games after your subscription ends (or you canceled it), you’re ripping them off. You didn’t buy the games, after all.

Gran Turismo 5, tra interni e altre caratteristiche

Dopo l’annuncio della data definitiva dell’E3, sono cominciate a circolare voci sulla possibilità che non tutte le 1000 auto di Gran Turismo 5 avessero la visuale dall’interno, quella al volante.

A smentirle ci ha pensato un blogger straniero, che ha contattato direttamente la Poliphony Digital. Nella risposta, è stato spiegato che sì, tutte le auto avranno la visuale interna, ma per le premium cars (circa 200) questa sarà accuratamente modellata sulla base della controparte reale, mentre per le restanti 800 sarà un interno generico.

Questo dettaglio si va aggiungere a tutte le altre caratteristiche che dall’E3 sono sorte, come ad esempio la presenza dei go-kart, le arene Stunt, le condizioni meteo variabili e sopratutto l’editor di tracciati, che permette di creare il proprio tracciato anche con l’ausilio del Move e di condividerlo con la community, e la possibilità di giocare in 3D.

Inafune: "It's a dark time for Japanese Games Industry…"

We already heard that before last year at Tokyo Game Show, and this prediction is becoming quite common from Japanese developers. According to Keiji Inafune, creator of many successful titles like the Mega Man series and the upcoming Dead Rising new sequel, “Every year that I come to E3, year in and year out, the one thing I’ve noticed is that it seems like the Japanese game developer share seems to be getting smaller and smaller“.

For Capcom’s Head of Global R&D, “I think to myself sometimes, if we keep on this course, the Japanese gaming market will disappear totally. That is one of the valid concerns that I have, which is why as a Japanese publisher, as Capcom, we really want to fight the good fight, and try and make our games work within this more primarily Western market“.

I personally think that the key to a successful gaming industry is collaboration. We already saw that in the past and it worked. It will be a pitty seeing great companies like Konami, Capcom or even Namco ruined because of that. Inafume himself is working closely with Blue Castle, a Canadian studio, to create Dead Rising 2.

Fact is that Japanese industries are insisting in RPGs and inovation is becoming scarse. But hey, how can we imagine gaming industry without Japanese creations like Mario, Sonic, or Pac-man?

On the last poll a lot of you wanted to see PS2 titles come to the PlayStation Store. No announcement on that was made though. A few of us wanted a better web browser. I’d like to see Google Chrome on the PS3 myself. Then a few of you voted for Oly1Kenobi. Which did happen, he even got into the Sony Press Conference last minute. Lucky, lucky.

The Book of Eli I never got around to watching, but it seemed interesting. The beginning of the new 3D movies starts with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. So if anyone got one of the new 3D-HDTV’s and tries the new 3D movies out, let us know how it is. The Bourne Trilogy is available for a single purchase now, I love that series. Anything interest you this time?

Highlights
There are quite a few dynamic and premium themes (and a few avatars) in the US store this week. As far as new games go, though, there are a couple Minis and Sam and Max Episode 303 released as well (which I will try to review within the week). The Blue Toad Murder Files is also bundled up this week as well.

There’s a big list of Sonic sales going on this week as well, for Sonic’s 19th anniversary. As far as other DLC goes, the new ‘Outlaws to the End’ co-op DLC has been released for Red Dead Redemption, and the new Onslaught co-op mode for Battlefield Bad Company 2 released as well. And, of course, there are the regular releases as well, which include Rock Band, Guitar Hero 5, but also some DLC for Just Cause 2, LBP and MNR.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm è l’ultima installazione della serie sparatutto che, sin dalle sue prime apparizioni su PS1, ha sempre portato con se una pistola come periferica dedicata, a sostituire il controller. Le cose cambiano però, e con l’avvento di PS Move la serie abbandona la pistola e passa a supportare completamente il motion controller di casa Sony, che a giudicare dal video si adatta ottimamente alla nuova funzione. Dal video inoltre, possiamo notare come insieme al nuovo Time Crisis: Razing Stoirm verranno inclusi anche altri due giochi, Time Crisis 4 e Deadstorm Pirates, entrambi con pieno supporto al Move.

Dalle pagine virtuali del sito tedesco PlayFront.de riportiamo oggi uno screen della schermata di selezione personaggi di Mortal Kombat.

Come potrete constatare voi stessi, nel nuovo titolo Midway saranno presenti 26 combattenti (di cui confermiamo Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Scorpion, Mileena, Reptile, Night Wolf, Sektor e Johnny Cage), e sembra inoltre che verranno rilasciati nuovi lottatori come DLC a pagamento.
Una trovata commerciale criticabile ma che certamente permetterà a tutti i fan di vecchia data di poter disporre del proprio violento beniamino appartenente al mondo Mortal Kombat.

La Electronic Arts sta lavorando al nuovo titolo di questa storica serie di giochi di basket. La data di uscita di NBA Elite 11 non è ancora stata fissata, ma la sua pubblicazione è prevista per ottobre.
I suoi sviluppatori hanno voluto puntare molto sulla manovrabilità dei giocatori e sulla fisica per ofrire un realismo ed un coinvolgimento ancora maggiori.

Il passo che la Electronic Arts vuole fare con NBA Elite 11 è radicale: seppure il titolo dell'anno scorso non sia stato affatto male, quest'anno i suoi creatori vogliono rendere il giocatore ancora più protagonista e partecipe nelle azioni in campo, cercando di abbandonare quella serie di mosse un po' troppo facili da compiere e pertanto meno coinvolgenti seppur devastanti e vittoriose.

Journey: il nuovo attesissimo titolo realizzato dai creatori di Flower

Thatgamecompany è uno dei team indie più rispettati dell’industria videoludica per essersi allontanato dai ‘binari’ dei comuni videogames, spostandosi in campi totalmente inesplorati. Dopo il successo di flOw, la loro reputazione è salita esponenzialmente dopo l’uscita di Flower sul PSN, e finalmente sono pronti a parlare della loro nuova creazione: Journey.

L’ispirazione su Journey è nata dalla sensazione di Jenova che nell’età moderna, in cui l’uomo ha così tanto potere, abbiamo del tutto perso di vista il valore dell’ esperienza umana – il timore nei confronti dell’ignoto.

Nella nostra società, l’uomo è potente – Possiamo viaggiare a 100 chilometri orari; possiamo connetterci praticamente con chiunque, da qualsiasi parte, in ogni momento. Ma per strada le persone si incrociano ignorando la magnificenza dell’esistenza di altri esseri viventi. Siamo oppressi dall’attenzione necessaria per esercitare il nostro stesso potere – proprio come avviene nella maggior parte dei videogames. In questo modo tendiamo a diventare isolati ed insicuri nel profondo del nostro ego.

Allo stesso tempo, quando camminiamo in mezzo alla natura selvaggia, diventiamo nuovamente deboli e vulnerabili. Queste sensazioni rendono qualsiasi persona che incontriamo molto più importante ed interessante. Li accogliamo, gli diamo aiuto. Possiamo viaggiare insieme per un po’, possiamo imparare nuove cose e darci fiducia l’un l’altro. Affrontando insieme la pericolosa natura, in un certo senso, riusciamo a sentirci forti e sicuri.

Mentre la maggior parte dei videogames dà un senso di onnipotenza durante l’esperienza di gioco online, abbiamo capito che il giocatore si sarebbe focalizzato maggiormente sull’esistenza di altri giocatori riducendo la distrazione derivata dal potere, per cui l’esperienza di gioco online sarà assolutamente unica se riesce a trascinare la sensazione di timore nei confronti dell’ignoto. In un mondo in cui la maggior parte dei videogiocatori è distratta dalla tecnologia, l’evocazione di un senso di insicurezza e mistero potrebbe davvero rinnovare l’esperienza di gioco.

Per raggiungere tale obbiettivo, abbiamo creato un vasto mondo capace di apparire davvero poco familiare. E il gioco comincia con un personaggio che si sveglia nel deserto, senza alcun indizio su quanto possa essere accaduto prima e cosa potrà accadere nel futuro. Si vede solo un’enorme montagna all’orizzonte, con lo scopo di suggerire al giocatore il bisogno di esplorare questo mondo.

Durante l’esplorazione, si potrà incontrare uno/a sconosciuto/a che sta affrontando il suo viaggio (Journey). Ma al momento non vogliamo parlare molto dell’esperienza di gioco online. In parte perchè non vogliamo appunto che si sappia nulla su cosa possa accadere, in parte perchè è grandiosa l’idea di affrontare un’esperienza del tutto sconosciuta. Abbiamo comunque ancora tantissimo tempo per poterne discutere in futuro…

Le peremesse sono davvero fenomenali, e probabilmente si tratterà di un gioco assolutamente indimenticabile. Non vediamo l’ora di saperne di più!

Giochi: Activision svela il nuovo GoldenEye 007 per Wii

La scorsa settimana, in occasione dell'E3 di Los Angeles, Activision ha annunciato ufficialmente GoldenEye 007, sparatutto in prima persona in esclusiva per Nintendo Wii. Si tratta di una sorta di seguito "spirituale" del GoldenEye rilasciato nel 1997 nel formato Nintendo 64. Quello sparatutto, sviluppato da Rare, fu uno dei migliori giochi in assoluto per Nintendo 64 con oltre 8 milioni di copie vendute.

I giocatori impersoneranno lo James Bond con le fattezze fisiche di Daniel Craig, l'attore che lo ha interpretato negli ultimi film. GoldenEye 007, come il suo predecessore, si concentrerà soprattutto sul multiplayer, con la possibilità di giocare in 4 sulla stessa console in modalità schermo condiviso. Include un totale di 40 personaggi, 8 personaggi classici Bond, 5 mappe, 3 modalità standard e 16 speciali modificatori che permettono ai giocatori di creare centinaia di combinazioni di gioco.

GoldenEye 007 è inoltre caratterizzato da modalità multiplayer online fino a 8 giocatori, studiato per giocatori esperti con un robusto sistema XP per contenuti sbloccabili e achievements. GoldenEye 007 supporta inoltre il Classic Controller Pro per chi desidera giocare con i controlli standard e il Wii Zapper, per offrire ai giocatori numerose opzioni di controllo.

"GoldenEye per N64 fu uno dei videogiochi più acclamati ed è tutt'ora citato regolarmente come uno dei più apprezzati e importanti titoli nella storia", afferma David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. "Siamo entusiasti di proporre il nuovo GoldenEye 007 ai giocatori di tutto il mondo che potranno vivere un'avventura inedita che integra i momenti della pellicola di GoldenEye e un innovativo FPS con modalità multiplayer senza rivali sulla piattaforma".

Il nuovo GoldenEye 007 è sviluppato da Eurocom e arriverà nella prossima stagione natalizia solo nel formato Nintendo Wii. Eurocom è famosa per i porting di diversi titoli arcade in versione console e per aver lavorato sulle licenze Batman, I Pirati dei Caraibi, L'Era Glaciale, Harry Potter. Ha sviluppato anche Dead Space Extraction e James Bond 007 NightFire.

Il punto chiave di Greg Hastings Paintball 2 è che le sparatorie non necessariamente devono essere mortali per essere divertenti. Greg Hastings è un professionista di questo sport particolare e anche questa volta ha collaborato con i creatori del gioco mettendo a disposizione tutta la sue esperienza.

All'interno di Greg Hastings Paintball 2 è presente una modalità di gioco online che prevede una sfida faccia a faccia tra due squadre di 10 giocatori ciascuna.
