Capcom has a solid lineup so far for the first half of 2010. What else does the company have in store for the rest of the year? John Diamonon of Capcom posted on the official Playstation blog that he plans to post a "huge announcement " on the blog this April. His only hint was "Stay tuned and let the speculation begin!"

Yes, 35 square miles, on a demo alone! The 35 square mile expanse will be packed with towns, villages, mountains, missions and activities, plus plenty of ways to just go around and have some fun. The press release further details some of the content within the demo:
Hunt down and assassinate one of the game's 50 military colonels; devastate military bases, bio fuel chambers, government infrastructure and more; hijack tuk tuks, military 4×4s, armoured vehicles, mopeds, helicopter gunships, light aircraft, mini vans and numerous other military and civilian vehicles; freefall from desert outcrops or from burning planes at 20,000 feet; and unlock one full, multi-stage mission, traversing the mountains to a heavily fortified government radar station and ending in an unforgettable desert car chase.

Friday 26th February/… Square Enix London Studios, a part of Square Enix Europe, today announced an incredible, action-packed demo for the hotly anticipated freeroaming action game Just Cause 2 will release on March 4th, 2010.
Available for PlayStation® 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC, the Just Cause 2 demo will feature a massive 35 square miles of the Lautan Lama Desert, a vast expanse of stunning, sun-scorched scenery taking up just one of the many islands in the 400 square miles of the Panau archipelago. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing è un gioco molto divertente di corse di kart per Playstation 3 realizzato dalla Sumo Digital e prodotto dalla Sega.Pro: I controlli del gioco sono molto precisi e la sensazione di velocità è netta. I circuiti sono disegnati molto bene e sono molto diversi fra loro. Sono tantissimi i personaggi più amati dei videogiochi presenti in questo titolo. Sfidare i propri amici, sia online che offlie è assolutamente divertente. Le ambientazioni sono molto belle.
Contro: La modalità di gioco online prevede solo corse. Non è possibile giocare insieme ad un amico durante il Gran Premio.

WRC Real-Time Positioning in Future WRC Game(s)?

Basically the premise of the concept is to allow users the ability to race their rally cars on the race track in the game as the streaming of the actual race with actual racers will be coinciding with it. In other words, players can essentially race against the actual rally car drivers on the same track, at the same time. If they could actually get it to work, it would be awesome, and a big bridge between real life and gaming. Here’s what Simon Long of North One Sport has said:
This study should take us a step closer to our goal of allowing WRC fans anywhere in the world the opportunity to become part of the action. Using the internet they would be able to compete in the rally on the same stages against some of the best drivers in the world. If this test is successful then we hope in the future to crown our first virtual rally champion.
iOpener’s CEO, Andy Lürling, also stated:
Together we aim to configure North One Sport's systems and iOpener's patented technology to capture high accuracy live action GPS which can then be integrated into the next generation of WRC video games. These games will allow fans to drive, co-drive, manage or simply watch the WRC from the heart of the action.

WRC TO BE THE SUBJECT OF INNOVATIVE VIDEO GAME CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
North One Sport, global Promoter for the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), has agreed a technical cooperation to investigate the feasibility of real-time rally gaming. The consortium, including iOpener Media and Black Bean Games, will explore a new interactive gaming concept for the WRC based on real-time positioning data.
iOpener has been developing real-time high-accuracy positioning data in interactive applications since 2007 and, in conjunction with North One Sport, has secured the cooperation of Gulf Horizon Group. Black Bean Games, publisher of the upcoming official WRC console game, will also support the project with further technical expertise provided by their in-house production studio Milestone.
The partners will work together to collect a continuous stream of positioning and telemetry data from the cars competing on WRC rallies. This data will then be applied and tested in a step-by-step plan aiming to deliver a gaming experience that is consistent, reliable and accurate.
"This study should take us a step closer to our goal of allowing WRC fans anywhere in the world the opportunity to become part of the action," commented Simon Long, CEO of North One Sport Ltd. PlayStation Store Global Update 02/25/10

Biggest thing this week would probably have to be the public release of the God of War III demo. I downloaded it last night (it comes in at over 2.5GB), and, apart from a few sound glitches, the gameplay is still silky smooth (sound glitches aren’t surprising, taking into consideration the demo is almost a year old). The MAG dynamic themes are also available, as is the PSOne Classic, Grandia, which you can get in the US store.
For those who are unsure of Darksiders, there is now a demo available for that as well, to give you a taste of the game. I’ve heard good things about it, but didn’t really follow it. Maybe a bit under-appreciated? Perhaps. I still need to download it myself and check it out. Greed Corp. has also been released, which is a turn-based strategy game revolving around land harvesting and taking out enemies (harvest too much land, and the “tiles” beneath will begin to crumble and deteriorate, which is also a way to use against the opponent as well). It sounds interesting, but I’m not big into strategy games myself.
echoshift has also been released on the PSP (the echo* games are pretty fun puzzle games if you haven’t played them). As far as add-ons go, the Drake’s Fortune map and skin packs have been released for Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet has gotten it’s WKC costume pack, the the Secret Armory DLC for Borderlands has been released as well. Of course, you still have your standard releases for Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5, and a few other pieces for a couple other games are there as well.
It’s not a bad update, really, but it definitely could have been better. Be sure to read through the tabs and see what might interest you. Again, sorry on my part for being a bit late. Was out driving most of the day because my sister’s car broke down haha.

Jack Tretton, capo di SCEA, ha detto in un intervista che secondo lui gli sviluppatori stanno soltanto raschiando la superficie di quelle che sono le vere potenzialità della PS3.
Aggiunge poi: “Non posso neanche immaginare cosa sarà tecnicamente fatto con la PS3 nel prossimo futuro. Molti mi chiedono “ma quando uscirà la Playstation 4?” Quando verrà creata una tecnologia in grado di fare di più di ciò che si può fare con la PS3, ma stiamo appena cominciando a sfruttarla.”
“Non so a che punto siamo, ma questa è di sicuro solo la superficie. È solo l’inizio per giochi come LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 2 o Final Fantasy XIII, che davvero sfruttano la console”
In definitiva, a quanto pare le vere potenzialità, dopo tre anni dall’uscita, sono ancora solo sfiorate. Vedremo forse la PS3 fare questo?
Transformers: War for Cybertron Gameplay Trailer

Tonight on Spike, GTTV revealed the Transformers: War for Cybertron gameplay trailer. The graphics look amazing and seem to have a very sci-fi feel to them. This game tells the history of the Transformers. It takes place before the transformers escaped to earth and is therefore a prequal to the movies, and/or cartoon series. There will be two campaigns in the game. One storyline for the Autobots, and one for the Decepticons. This game will also feature co-op and head to head multiplayer online game modes. It is set to release in May of this year.
